Neck Lift Surgery
The surgeries performed to correct wrinkles, sagging and loosening in the neck area are called neck lift surgeries. The operation is performed by stretching the entire neck skin, including the jowl area under the chin, as well as the muscle and fat tissue under the skin, and removing the excess tissues. However, depending on the location of the problem, neck lift can be performed only on the face, only on the neck, or both in combination.
In aging, excessive weight gain and loss, skin, soft tissue and some systemic diseases , the decrease in elastin and collagen under the skin causes relaxation, loosening and sagging of the neck skin. As time goes on, this is added to reduce the tightness of muscle and fat tissue. As a result, the angle between the neck and the chin disappears. This situation is most common in people who gain and lose excess weight, and those whose lower jaw is anatomically backward and small. In addition to sagging and loosening of the skin in obese people, lubrication is also seen.
